"Knowledge is power" - this is the motto of the Classics department at Redborne and one we aim to instill in our students by providing as varied and stimulating an approach to class and extra-curricular activities as we can.

From humble beginnings in 2012 (six students taking Latin GCSE) we have grown in size and scope - we now also offer an A level in Classical Civilisation, and have around sixty students.

We are proud to be a thriving and successful Classics department in the state sector, particularly as only approximately 7% of state schools offer Latin as an exam course.
